Slowly But Surely...

....coming back to life. Caleb is recovering! He has a great attitude...takes meds well, let's the nurses do their thing without a fight. In that way it is going much smoother than it did with Baker. However he is pretty pitiful. He is very swollen, can hardly talk, and in a lot of pain. He's still not eating or drinking anything, so we could be in for a long couple of days.

Here We Go Again...

3 1/2 months after Baker's tonsil surgery, it is time for Caleb's. I can honestly say that I was literally sick to my stomach at the thought of going through this again. It was such a hard recovery for Baker, and as a Mommy it is tough feeling so helpless. Just another one of the many moments where we have to completely surrender our control to the Lord and have faith that He is watching over. I wonder often if I will ever truly learn to do this well.

I am happy to report that Caleb had a successful surgery . The next few days will be difficult and I'm sure my heart will be anxious, so thank you for your continued prayers! I must brag though...that Caleb has caught the eye of many nurses with his blonde curls and contagious smile!!! That's our boy!!!

Destin 2011

This year Dee and Pop decided to take all of the family to Destin, FL.  It has been years since we've all been to the beach.....and it was Baker and Caleb's first trip ever!!!  I so wished that I had videotaped Baker's reaction when he saw the beach for the first time.  Once his feet hit the sand he fell to his knees, looked in complete "awe", and then started doing sand angels.  It was hilarious!  Baker loved loved loved the sand.....

.....and that love continued throughout the entire week.  He was covered every day from head to toe, furthermore proving why we will never own a sandbox!  He even found a big hole to jump and do flips into!  Caleb on the other hand was not as big of a fan!  He didn't like to be "dirty."

We spent the whole week (without killing each other I might add =) ) with Breck, Uncle Burt, Dee, and Pop!

The boys loved the water.....both the ocean and the pool.  We spent ALL day every day swimming.....which did not help Mommy's tan! =)  We even found some live sand dollars in the ocean!
Baker was a little hesitant to jump in the pool at his swim lessons two weeks ago.  At the beach....he was leaping!  He did great swimming!
Caleb thought it was hilarious to do belly flops into the pool.  "Watch this Mommy....."

That's a big chair!!!

Our Little Fish

Baker had his first ever swim lessons this past week. It was a week long program in Columbia. My mom knew the teachers and it came very highly recommended!!! My sweet, stubborn, strong-willed little man did not love it, but Mr. Burt said Baker was not going to defeat him!!! Lol....oh me! We got to come to the show on Friday so they could show us all they learned! We've got lots to keep working on, but we thought he did pretty great! We're proud of our "Spiderman!"
